Looking at headers what do you guys recommend...

Im tossing around the idea of long tube headers and want some more feedback than what Ive got and my question is... What brand, size, and is there anything else that I need to know.
Current Mods
BlackBear 93 octane tune
K&N 57 series cold intake
Bassani 2.5" exhaust (no cats and currently dumped under bed)
Intake bypass mod
And installing my LS1 oil pan when my windage tray, dip stick and tube get here tomorrow...
So what brands are best. ARP is really nice but not stock internal 5.3 nice for $1,400... So ive been looking at LPP, Pacesetter, OBX and that's about it, should I just get 1-3/4 or are the 1-7/8 worth the extra $100-$150... I know I wont get much more power from these but the little will be nice and a mpg wouldn't hurt either... Plan to install a X-pipe when I redo the exhaust for the headers.
Just trying to get pointed in the right direction. Thanks, Colyn.

I have LPP, no complaints. Had some fitment issues with the front driveshaft, but 2wd trucks should be fine. Use band clamps from NAPA and copper RTV to seal them up and you should be good to go. Make sure to soak the header bolts in pb blaster for a few days before to loosen them up.
FWIW, I lost about 2 mpg on the highway with mine. And this was after Wheatley spent hours dialing the tune in.

I don't plan to do anything else big to this 5.3 now with that being said I am looking for a LQ9 bare block to start on and may go boost may not but will hopefully get a set of ARP for that once I start to build it.
Why did your mpg go down with the headers? I figured you would gain atleast 1mpg or stay the same not loose any?

What it boiled down to for me between the TSP headers and the Pacesetters - the TSP's are not advertised to fit 4wd trucks. Stainless is always a better option, but I haven't heard of any problems with the pacesetters failing completely or rusting through.
