Lookin for some help! TR224/224-112

So I am in the process of putting a 6.0L in my 1999 2WD ECSB. I will be running the 4L80E, PI 2800 stall, HPtuners, headers, intake, new valvetrain, transGo shift kit and so on. I have called to places and they keep telling me not to run the TR224/224-112 they say it's too big for a truck. What should I do. How do you like yours? I don't want to regret going with the C1 with MTI. What should I do.

it's most definetly not to big for our trucks. It might be on the large side for the 4.8 or 5.3 but can run vry well. On a 6.0 it's no problem. thunder has a 224/224 112 lsa in his regular cab 4.8 and jsut set a new best time of 13.8 on all motor.

I think it all depends on what you want to do with the truck...
I think in a lighter weight drag-oriented truck it would be good... but in a daily driver that might haul a lot, it might be too big for some.
I had a TR220-112 in my 6.0 ECSB (4x4) here... it was too big for me. I lost power at highway cruising speeds, but gained it all up top (where I spend very-very little time). I also had minimal bolt-ons at the time, so you may have to factor that in too.
The C1 is real close to the TR224... I don't think there will be much difference at all between the two.
Your converter will defininitely help out around town... but when it locks up, you may end up in a real doggy part of the powereband unless you lock it up at a high enough speed to avoid it.
With my 210/218 112 cam, I lock at 45mph / 1,500rpm. Under 1,500 it's a little soft for my liking.
It will probably all come down to personal preference. I'm not willing to give up much or live with any quirks in the persuit of power...

I have the TR224 in my LS1 and I love it. I really feel like the cam pulls well in all RPM ranges--but that just might be from having a 4.8 for so long before the LS1.
I don't tow anything and have a 2wd RCSB, so that might be helping me out a little.
