True the shift recovery is better but that helps with e/t not mph because the converter isnt helping you make more power. Look at some threads where the only change is a converter the et changes but the mph is within 1mph 99% of the time. Whereas with a cam, you drop .5(for example) and tack on another 3-4mph because you gained hp. Understand?
well said, converters help 60ft which improves ET. I converter can give you a few mph, but thats because you are leaving the line harder. You dont get those mph from HP like some think. With a cam, you ET might not drop but you would see 3-4mph through the trap gains do to 25-40hp being gained
these smaller 2600-3000 stalls arent as loose as the big ones you you dont loose much power.. I believe they are 95-97% efficient? My vig3600 in my car sukked from a roll since it ate HP, but it was A BEAST off the line. The yank 3000 in my truck feels about the same as it did with just the cam from 50 punches.. so I know its pretty efficient. Just dont by a verter to roll race people. By a converter to blow off their doors from a light Then they have to try and catch up lol

why do ya'll say it won't help from a roll?
1. it will help put you in the powerband from the get-go, no matter what rpm you start at. when you have a stall you can go from almost any mph roll.
2. the better shift extension will help by keeping the truck in the powerband instead of dropping too far.

ive had a stall in my LS1 for 6 years.. it doesnt help hardly any from a roll. It will help you get into your power band, but the verter isnt gving you HP though. From a roll, its about HP and not Tq
I can run 11.1-3's all day in MY TA.. but go out and race a 12.0 LS1 from a roll and stay dead even.
if you think it helps, then by all means it does.. If you want to race from a roll, then by a stick truck If you read the efficency on these verters when you order, you will notice that they are anywhere from 86-98% efficient. Meaning they eat up HP up top. You need more HP to make up for its sukking up on top end. Converters are the best mod you can do I think, but they are meant for helping you get that 60ft down
