I have a 2000 ECSB with at 5.3. I'm getting ready to put a 6.0 liter in it real soon. The question is, I'm looking at the Dynatech headers, and they list two different sets. One for the 5.3 and one for the 6.0. Whats the difference?? And which ones will I need when installing a 6.0 liter in a 5.3 liter truck?? Also, are there any headers out there that any of you guys would prefer or recommend over these? I know they are $$$, but they sure do look sweet, and they come with the Y pipe for a true bolt on system. Thanks in advance.

are those the same as the FLP's? i know the FLP's are cross-listed as something else i think. someone here a month or so ago asked if headers for a 5.3 will fit on a 6.0 and i think the answer was no. not sure

The physiical size and the cylinder head bolt pattern is the same from 6.0 to 5.3
whoever going from a 2500(6.0) to a 1500(5.3) would make a big difference in
fittment issues.Framerails, steering box location, cross member differences,
exuast diameter and flange location. So just order for what your truck had in
it originally. My dad has a 99ecsb 4x4 5.3l and we put a 6.0 in it, then we got
asm headers for his original application and have zero fitment issues.

I would go for the TOG headers myself. I think the qaulity of the TOG headers can't be matched. The ASM's have welded up primaries, where the TOG's are all one solid piece. If you do go with TOG's though, get them coated, that will save you some headache later on.

The 5.3L Dynatechs have a Y-pipe, and the 6.0 version has the Y-pipe for the trucks with the dual exhaust all the way to the muffler.
If you want it to be true bolt on, go with the ones for the 5.3, because it will bolt into your stock exhaust, but if you are gonna run a true dual exhaust, get the 6.0 version because its already true dual, all you need is a x-pipe, mufflers, and a turndown.
Im just gonna get the headers and built my own exhaust all the way back.

i read on another forum someone who installed the dynatech long tubes with the y pipe, and then went and bought a magnaflow catback. he said his y pipe was a bit longer than it was suppost to and his catback didn't fit. so he had to go weld up new hangers or somethin. maybe it was just the fitting on his truck
