Lets play...Name that broken part

918s will work withthat cam they are about 150 or so. Get the vlave guide seals and the spring seats are part of the valve guide seals now and its cheap insurance and easy to do since you will have the heads right in front of you.

For some reason I think what happened will not happen again anytime soon.

The 918's are noisy?
Should I spend the $360 on the titanium springs?

What makes a valvetrain noisy is improper pushrod length after a cam install, more so than 918 springs. I've got 918's and you can't hear my valvetrain unless you open my hood and stick your ear up to it.
If you are only going to 6K RPM with a ~.550 lift then you'll be fine with '02+ LS6 springs. You could even push it to 6200-6300 if you wanted to, but the higher you go, the more you risk valve float. Less of an issue with the 918's because they have greater seat pressures (open and closed).
I think you're fine on the cam, any of the cams you put up in your poll would be good choices. Think of it this way - the stock cam goes up to 5800 RPM, and it's only 190/191, .45x/.45x, so any of your choices would get you to 6K or 6200. It really is a personal decision.

the noisy 918's has nothing to do with pushrod length.....They just cause an valvetrain noise that is a bit annoying to me, this may be ok for others. Kinda like loud exhaust....some like it some dont.

Just spent the last hour on the phone with Joe Vinci. After talking it all over I went with the ASP Kicker cam and thier titanium springs. He said these will work with stock pushrods and rockers. After I told him I would be shooting for 8#'s of boost on the LQ4 he said the ASP was they way to go. Should have a little chop to it and it pulls from 1900-6000. Also found out I will need a water pump gasket, Crank bolt, Valve seals, Timing cover gasket and seal.
Guess I need to go to the dealership or GMPartsDirect.com. Anybody got part numbers?
CAM SPEC:
DUR @ .050" 210*/218*
LIFT .551 / .551
OVERLAP 52*
LSA 112*
