probe goes right next to the upper radiator hose. the center of the radiator will never get hot enough to turn the fans on.

alright i will move it next to the top radiator hose and give it a shot. should i get a 160 thermo and set the fans for 170 if i can get a working thermo. thanks for the help

I set my fans at 176 and it holds just fine but it normally won't keep it at 170 unless it's winter. So basically trying to set em up for 170 would just mean your fans will never turn off.

180 is ifne like i said i have mine set for 176 and they do just fine. Normally don't kick on unless sitting in traffic. 170 is just a little low for the summers here is all.

160* stat here, fans set to come on at 180* and off at 173*, my coolant temp usually runs around 175ish.

Just buy a little auto zone on/off switch. And I would make sure that you didn't blow a fuse and the power wire from the battery has a fuse in it. That's what I did to be safe, may not be necessary tho

i finally got it working. i have the stock thermostat in place so i'm running that for now. i pulled the thermo probe and hit it with a heat gun and it started to run. i moved the probe closer to the radiator hose and the work juyst fine. i am going to run the toggle switch once i get one. thanks for all the help it was very useful
