Default L92 heads in 2000 silverado 1500

Im doing a motor swap from a 4.8L to a 6.0L and want to put on L92 cylinder heads. I read an article online and it said i have to use the L76 intake with the L92 heads and was wondering if anybody has done this and what exhaust headers you used and what cam.

The L92 heads have rectangular intake ports and must be matched with an intake manifold like the L76. You will need to use the L92/LS3 head gaskets and off-set L92/LS3 intake rockers, plus injectors and rails to match the intake.

You can use an L76, L92, or LS3 intake.

I don't have personal experience, but the guys I know that have done this on GTOs claim the L76 manifold flows the best of the stock choices.

Car manifolds will give you better numbers. They do flow better. BUT you need to change water pump, accessory pulley location, and shave the alternator bracket. I just went with a stock L92 truck mani for my heads cam 408 until edelbrock releases a rectangular port pro flow. I was thinking about the Holley hi ram but I believe it's too tall to fit under the stock hood. I could be wrong I haven't actually measured

From top to bottom the Holley is 11 3/4 inches. My stock L92 truck intake is 9 3/4. I would make a cardboard box the height of the Holley and stick in on the valley cover, close the hood, and see if it crushes the box. If it does, you know it won't fit under your stock hood
