Default L33 Z06 Cam and Z06 pushrods??

Hey guys, I recently picked up a L33 adn T56 for my budget swap for my 97 Nissan 240sx. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about the LSX engines, but I've ran accross a really good deal. I know that the L33 has the 799 heads, which are basicly LS6 heads and I've allready picked up my LS1 intake. I'm currently entertaining an offer for 03 Z06 Cam, Springs and Pushrods for $150. I've try to search all night and I keep reading that the stock pushrods can handle this cam, but that it is best to upgrade to the 7.45s. Well, considering my budget (wife and 3 kids) I'm trying to keep my spending down. Can I run the Z06 pushrods as a upgrade to my stock L33 pushrods? How do they compare to the 7.45's?? Thanks

Use a pushrod checker. I assume you arent going to be doing any machining on the heads... Wouldnt 7.4 be the correct size?

Sorry, man I don't know what a pushrod checker is. This is the first time I've ever dealt with a LS engine. Only other engines I've worked on have been dual over head cam Nissans, which don't have pushrods.

Should try to find a LS engine teardown/buildup book or ebook. They probably sell somethin decent on ebay if you look hard enough.

I think there might be some info if you search a little on here or ls1tech.com or ls1howto.com.

If you are going to use stock pushrods use the l33's.The z06 pushrods are shorter to make up for the longer valve stems on the ls6 heads.

the longer valve stems make up for the smaller base circle on the ls6 cam, pushrods are the same

Well, sounds good guys. I'm going to stick with the L33 stock pushrods.

Hey, can anyone let me know the easiest way to swap out a cam on these LSX engines. My engine is on a engine stand right now.
