if they rebuilt his new trans from a core it may not have had the 5 pinion planets since it may not have been a 65E. what came stock in his truck at that point was out the window since they were building him a second trans. if they were selling him one as a 65E though they shouldn't have tacked on a new planetary in the bill.

I actually forwarded some of the comments on this thread to my Tuner. I want to see if he can get this info from the Trans builder and get back to me. I haven't heard yet...

They got your nice 65 core, what they installed was a 60e modded with what HD we dont know. The 65 has many changes VS the 60e.At the time you did the turbo you could have gotten by with a PCM pressure boosted vette servo,What you should have done at the time of the turbo was had a stall,servo,trans-go done. You would have had a solid unit and I bet it would have been a long time before you killed it.Since you went for the RB I would have insisted they RB you OE trans.I hope your problems are over.

). And the other no is that there is NO WAY a stock 65 would come anywhere near holding up to my power levels, especially with 55k miles on it. You probably missed the posts about how bad, from turbo-day-one, the trans was slipping. You have to remember, I added over 200awhp at the wheels and more than that in the torque. Sure, the 65 is stronger than the 60, but not built for 650-700hp at the crank, this I know, and I'm sure you do to...
Also don't forget, this is warrantied for 1yr & 12,000 miles. The shop is rebuilding this thing for free, no matter how many times it breaks. Do you really think they'd be dumb enough to put in a weak tranny only to have to uninstall it, fix it, and reinstall it again all under their dime?

Yo Weedo, my 65E is holding up GREAT with just a shift kit and servo. I'm cutting 1.6x 60' times with it and I'm positive I'm making more torque than you are down low. I'm flowing enough air and using enough fuel to make 650 fwhp. I don't have as many miles, but I had nitrous installed for 18 months before the Radix, so I've been abusing it longer. I've been more than happy with mine.

Do you think they'd be dumb enough to keep installing expensive hard parts and wasting labor fixing it if you continue to break the best transmission they can build?

B/f I installed my flp L5 I ran several 1.6s and one 1.63 on factory trans with shift kit and servos but I also broke the pump 2 times. I have 10 n20 passes with the new trans and almost 3k street miles and so far no problems. So I hope it was just a bad part, that what it sounds like to me.

BigTex - Yes, I think they'd be "dumb" enough to keep installing high quality parts. The're highly respected around here and do work for one of the most successful "Corvette" shops in the nation (Xtreme). The owner/builder takes huge pride in the "built-up" transmissions he puts in. No one at the shop can touch them but him. I know how a lot of people are, Gonzo for one, are very negative on almost every post I've read so I have to take some peoples posts with a grain of salt. My advice on replacing the stock trans came from the guys on here and SilveradoSS.com making the most power with the most experience: ie. TurboBerserker & Parish. After driving the truck and seeing how bad the trans was slipping after the turbo install, there was no question they were right. Why waste the money installing a Stall when it's the same cost as installing a Trans and a Stall, only to have to replace the Trans soon anyway because it would never hold up to my current and future power levels?
Mr Negative - Yes, I read the fine print on the warranty and talked to the shop, they are like Chuck, and will fix it anytime it breaks, for any reason.
