Thumbs up Just got a Predator

Called James from www.runninwiththedevil.com yesturday with a list of questions...after little pursuation I ordered it. Free overnight shipping.....was at my doorstep this morning (thats so awesome). After reading the manual 3 times, installed the program......super easy+no problems whatsoever. Too bad its wet outside today, otherwise I could probably tell a real difference - and I know this isnt saying much.......but it does feel like it has more power b/c I am just barely giving it gas and going sideways. I will know for sure when its dry if it made a big improvement.

The main reasons I bought the Predator :
1. It seems to have more tuneability then some programmers ; Regarding fuel trims, timing, multiple tranny settings for RPM and MPH, etc
2. It has live data monitoring, which is awesome btw......tells you your real temp, readings from O2 sensors, Knock sensors....KR....inake temp etc etc
3. Since I ordered it from James.....he can custom tune for anything for free and send me the file through email to be downloaded intot he Predator and uploaded to the truck.
4. I can try it for 30 days and if it doesnt seem to do much........send it back for a refund no questions asked.
5. Only takes a few minutes to uplaod programs
6. The unit itself looks awesome.....huge display + the case is transparent blue/green - just a little added bonus IMO

I am going to the track sometime within the next month......and I will run w/the Predator tuning or possibly a custom tune If i have it by then....then I will return the tune back to stock just like if I was going to the dealer, make a few runs and see how it does w/o it.

BTW - not sure if the preset tune on the Predator is supposed to be a secret or whatever......but does anyone know what it is? Regarding the timing and shifing parameters? I would kind of like to know what they are so I could maybe experiment with other settings.....When I got into "view parameters" it basically shows everything at 0, so I guess I am unable to see what the original tune is currently set at...

Please send it back ASAP...it's toasted a few PCM's on here already. Get you a real tune from Allen (Farmtruc) or Westers or someone local

Well I hope I have better luck with it.

$600 for Westers is a little much IMO, especially since Ive read at least 4 people that said it made little to no difference on the 03's

I'd rather pay half that and get the diagnostics etc.

And wether its true or not has yet to be seen, but James told me that the version I have has been revised b/c of the 'pcm frying'.

i have predator and i don't think it is a bad tool to begin on (better than hppIII). only thing i don't like about my predator is it only took a small portion of torque management away on the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. i wanted off the line and 1-2 shifts to be ridden of tq management. i was expecting more. i hope to jump up to edit in the near future.

I know that 02 denali just said to watch out for them........but James at RWTD could maybe make you a custom tune to get rid of more TM.
