WCCH (West Coast Cylinder Heads) has some nice cnc'd heads for your 5.3, there's a link to their website to the right. Give Richard over there a call and you will be utterly impressed with his wealth of knowledge and awesome customer service. I can't remember the exact numbers, but Tom (tdrumm, member here) got some very nice gains from a set of WCCH StageI 5.3 heads

Maybe it's because the stage 3 have a bigger I-valve. 2.08 I believe. It wouldn't work with the bore very well.

Sounds like you're describing the Edelbrocks. That's also where I came up w/. that price, WCCH.

tdrumm got his StageI's before the Edelbrocks were available, so WCCH used to have their own. Not sure if they still offer them or replaced them with the Edelbrocks or what, but I'd assume that they kept their original offerings
