Default What do i need?

i want my truck to run mid to high 13's and still be reliable for everyday driving. first off is this possible. i have built many diesels to run 12's for everyday driving but never a gas motor.

the truck in my sig is what im trying to make this happen on. right now it has, no tune in it at all. i plan on a Blackbear tune and a set of 8.1 marine injectors. what else am i going to need?

Thanks
Robert

So it's boosted with the stock pcm tune? A tune will make a huge difference. It will also make it a lot safer to drive.

How can you even drive it with a supercharger, stock injectors, and stock tune? You are going to ruin it. When I had a stock LQ4, I had 42 lb injectors, fuel pump, intercooler and tune. I ran 13.2 @ 104 mph. I think that was at 11 psi.

i bought the truck this way, about a month ago. it only has 63,000 miles on it and the procharger has been on it for about 15,000. this truck has never seen the race track and wont until i get it tuned right.

with any boost the fueling will need to be enriched. Do you have a wideband or logging capability?

With tuning you should be able to run 13's fairly easy with the right supporting mods.

With the D1 on the 6.0, 42# injectors won't keep up, you need to get 60# injectors. You'll also need to upgrade your fuel pump. With the 35" tires, I would run at least a 4.10 gear. After that, get a wideband and proper tune and then you're good to go.

the truck has the whole procharger kit. it already has an inline pump that works with the one in the tank. it also has a FMU mounted to the fire wall.

so your saying get the 60lb injectors instead of the marine 8.1's?

all of this info is great. thanks fellas. i want the truck to be right, i also want to get all of the things i need to do done before i get it tuned that way i only have to do that once. and i know its right.

Yeah, get the 60's. I know sharpshooter was maxing his 42's out when he had his procharger on the 5.3. When he put the cammed 6.0 in, he put 60's in.
