Default Interesting new "factory" truck

I know, I know....it's not really a "factory" truck, but 13.4 @ 101 ain't too shabby! And, it has a warranty! Just have to fly to AZ and drive one back! :lol

I disagree!!!!

I just priced out a base 2003 at gmbuypower.com:

$23,320

Major options:
*carpet
*exterior appearance pkg (chrome bumpers/grille)
*3.73 rear
*5.3 LM7 engine/4L60E
*G80 locking diff
*tranny cooler

The Radix blower is almost $6000, and just the headers are $700.

$23,000 + $6,700 = $29,700

And that doesn't include all of the performance upgrades or the "bling bling." <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I think it's one helluva deal! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> And, if you build it yourself, you can't finance the extra $6-7 thou in mods! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Also, a 13.4 @ 101 would put this truck in the Top Ten on the Fastest Truck List: https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...;f=18;t=001597

They're still UGLY but I thought my 96 was the best lookin, hands down. It took a couple years before the new body style started growing on me. Now I think my o1 is the best I ever had. This might take some time.

Btw, Ls don't come with headers or a cat-back. My OEM exhaust was still on when I got into the high 12s. Depending where you run and the weather, some Ls run a 13.2 1/4--stock--right off the showroom floor.

I have seen some pretty stout LS1's on this site go for 4500 to 6500 that put cars in the 10's, a 1/2 SC goes for around 18,000 around here. I could easily build a truck that put that thing to shame for less money. Thats a cool truck, just not the route I would take.
