The "Sleeper Package" looks interesting.

I disagree!!!!

I just priced out a base 2003 at gmbuypower.com:

$23,320

Major options:
*carpet
*exterior appearance pkg (chrome bumpers/grille)
*3.73 rear
*5.3 LM7 engine/4L60E
*G80 locking diff
*tranny cooler

The Radix blower is almost $6000, and just the headers are $700.

$23,000 + $6,700 = $29,700

And that doesn't include all of the performance upgrades or the "bling bling."

I think it's one helluva deal! And, if you build it yourself, you can't finance the extra $6-7 thou in mods!

Also, a 13.4 @ 101 would put this truck in the Top Ten on the Fastest Truck List: https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...;f=18;t=001597

your pricing is a little off, i don't know what that truck costs but in my area they are selling ext cab 4wd 2003units(with 100k mile drivetrain warenty) for $22,000. surely that truck would be ALOT less. i bet you could find that blower for around 5k. i would expect to see that top 10 list change drasticly in the next few months.

My pricing is direct from gmbuypower.com. I don't see how it could be "off." I'm not saying that trucks don't sell for cheaper than that...but an ext cab 4WD truck, brand new, for $22K? No way...

And I would ask the dealer to explain this:

http://www.chapmansupertrucks.com/images/dyno.gif

Note: The 'test' run graph shows the HP and TQ lines crossing at about 6,200 rpm . That doesn't happen. No matter what eng/vehicle is being dynoed, the lines will always cross at 5,250 rpm.

"22000 for a xcab z71 2k3?"

i hear yea but i am just telling you how it is. they have been priced at 25k for a couple of years now and just a few months ago i saw they got down to 24k. i thought that seemed like a prety good deal and now all of the sudden they are at 22k. i just called the dealer.

H&H 402-339-2222, they are telling my they have 3 trucks at that same price, 4wd, 2003, ext cab, auto, air, i didn't ask anything else. $21,999. prety good deal huh. sale ends tomorrow at 6pm.

this doesn't make me real happy, i owe about 13k on my old truck still and i see dealers advertizing them for around that price. the truck market really droped the last year or so.

edit...oh yea, i didn't say "z71" all the add says is 4wd, who knows it might not even be a v8.

Me thinks they have the SC graph skewed to the right by 1000 rpm on the lower scale, which is a stupid mistake if the dealership is using this dyno as sales literature. "But look at that redline!!" I gots to have me one of 'dem!"

I just priced a new 03 ecsb z71 4wd new and the dealership is saying, 34K!!! So I would say the 22k is for a baseline ecsb with no options and the 4.8 with out the Z71 package. Maybe a used 03 with low miles!! There's no way there is that big of a price diffrence due to location!!

for 35k you can get a 4door LT duramax with EVERY option i know of.

If you really want to know what a truck costs, retail and invoice use MSN's site at: http://autos.msn.com/autopricer/defa...Home&pos=Res3. It set up like the dealerships systems in that it knows what options can be chosen with certain other options. It is very accurate on vehicles that have lower "lot days". Vehicles that have been on the lot for a while could be priced differently depending on factory increases. The best thing is to find a dealer that will work with you. I am on my 3rd truck and 2nd van with my dealer and have always paid only $100 over invoice for any of them, including the leases on the vans. One van was even better than that due to rebates and incentives at the time. I found it best to order my trucks. That way I paid for what I wanted and not what some truck manager ordered. That saves some cash for sure and you get exactly what you want with the color you want. www.kbb.com and www.edmunds.com also offer some of the same type of info but not in the automated form the msn does.
