I am finally getting some parts ordered to start the Whipple intercooler project. I have been trying to decide between air to air or air to water but my mind was made up Sun nite when I won an ebay auction for a radiator to be used as a heat exchanger. ZYA LTR on here was kind enough to sell me a LS1 intake reasonable and I am going to finalize the order for the core tomorrow so at least I feel like the project is underway now. I am pretty excited about being able to up the boost and timing and maybe make a little more power. I will post up some pics once it gets underway, but it might be 2 or 3 weeks still. In the meantime I am going to try and move the idler pulley that is in the way of using the LS1 intake.

ya just a little bit more
You will be able to drive around on pump gas with 12psi and 16* no problem! Good luck to ya buddy. Any questions just holler.
How are you piping to the intercooler? I was just wondering if you were mounting the intercooler in a place where you don't have to run around the alternator since you said you were just going to relocate the idler to fit the LS1 intake.
Also, just a thought on this one (i am not 100% sure the injectors fit) Could you use the money that would buy taller LS1 style fuel injectors on an LS2 intake manifold? Then you would have a 90mm opening and better flowing intake. I know the LS2 engine uses shorter fuel injectors. I just don't know if they are Multech II styles exactly like the truck ones you might already have. (I am also guessing you have already upgraded to some 43lb. 'stubby' fuel injectors already too)

Ryan, my core is made a little different than yours. It will be turned 90 degrees with the inlet and outlet facing the motor. The pipe going to the intake from the intercooler will only be a few inches long, and almost straight and I am planning on just running the other one over the alt.
I already have 42lb ford injectors (same size as F body) so that part is already taken care of. That dang Vette fuel rail sure is expensive! I am going to hold off til the last minute on buying that, in hopes of finding a used one.
It looks fairly simple, but I know once I get started I will run into unexpected probs. Thanks for the offer to help, I will probably be in contact !

I got the idler pulley moved yesterday. I am basically just waiting on parts now. If I have time this week I am going to do the wiring for the intercooler pump so at least that part will be done ahead of time.
I am going to go make a few dyno pulls later this week so we can have some before and after numbers. I haven't been on the rollers with this setup so I am anxious to see where I am at.
