Default Intake manifold option for cable-throttle guys

Just been doing some thinking, and is there any reason that this wouldn't work on an N/A truck? It would require a custom intake pipe, but other than that and changing the injectors, it shouldn't pose too many problems, should it? Any thoughts?

Pondering a new intake setup on the truck to get rid of the crappy, truck intake...

Edelbrock Vic Jr intake

Edelbrock 1000cfm TB

Sounds like my gas mileage is about to go to **** in a hurry! I think 1slow01Z71 is pondering a setup very similar to this.

It's not just an option for cable throttle trucks as there are some adapters you can buy to put a GM 90mm DBW TB on those types of intakes as well. There are a few builds going on and pics have been posted on this forum too...

is there a throttle body smaller than 1000cfm?? wouldnt that be overkill on a n/a motor with smaller displacement?

-but that vic Jr does look like a NICE canidate for a direct port setup!!!

Here's one installed on an H2 quite a while ago...

The one with the 90mm DBW adapter

One where Parish admits to installing one on his truck

I've read those threads, but those are all DBW TB's, and to this point Richard has only hinted that this *might* work for the cable throttle guys. I'm hoping to try this soon.

Yes, but the Edlebrock TB has been out for years for the cable throttle guys and there were several high flow carb flange TB's out before Edlebrock's, all with 5V TPS signals. The carb style intake idea for LS1's has even been out for several years... all I'm saying is that it's not a new idea, and no, there's no reason it shouldn't work on a truck.

So has anyone done this yet on a cable truck? All I'm doing is trying to share some ideas that I had kicking around. I never said that I was breaking new ground here, but it's a combination that I haven't yet seen put together, and I was interested in any feedback since no one that I know of has run that particular TB like Richard has suggested.
