Inline fuel pump ??? what wire you guys tapping

Sorry Dirt, I knew you would of done it right, but you didn't say it so I just wanted to make sure it's "out there".
Yes both pumps need to run. NO way is that stocker pushing thru that inline when it's not running. OKay it will be but you'll notice you have an issue. If you have run your wires yet, I suggest running 10 ga wire, you will NEVER doubt the feed.

I got a question. To connect my inline fuel pump, I simply used the factory + and - wires to connect it. Would that be a problem? It has been working fine, except that when driving the fuel pressure reading jumps around like crazy between 45 and 60 psi. Could it be the way i wired it or is it probably leaking somewhere?

BTW, im using a Vette fuel filter w/built in fuel pressure regulator. When it was new (just 5,000 old) it was doing great, fuel pressure was at 58psi all the time with out the gauge bouncing like crazy.

so, you "T tapped" the factory pump wires? You are feeding the pump with the same wires the factory pump is being fed with? Yes, that would be a problem. The wires aren't big enough.

take those wires off the inline pump terminals and put them on the #85 and #86 of a relay (it doesn't matter which is which for grnd or positive). Then give your inline pump a real good ground. #12AWG at least. Then Run a fused wire from battery power to the #30 on the relay. Then run a #12AWG at least from #87 on the relay to your positive terminal of the inline fuel pump.

If that's the only pump you have, I'd probably do a hot wire kit. Replace stock wires with larger wires, it should help considerably (or prevent a future issue) You have a regulator? If the pressure is pulsing like that I'd check that as well.
