Default injectors on an NA motor

Im building my 5.3 NA and I recently read an article in Carcraft where they got 458 out of an NA 5.3 they where maxing out the injectors and went with 30 lb/hr. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this. how can I tell if I need larger injectors. Can I use the stock pump? What will it do to gas mileage Im allready at around 12 MPG city with the stall, highway im at 20 to 22. Any ideas or recommendations

in that article they were using a huge cam and a head package. would not be street friendly at all. you will need some hardware and software to read your fuel. you wont need to mess with your injectors or fuel pump unless you add some HP to the mix like a heads cam combo, nitrous, FI. someone on here can tell ou better on the equipment needed.

I plan on going with stage 2 heads (probably from patriot) and a custom cam. Can I use stock injectors and pump or will I need to upgrade? If I go ahead with the H&C swap will I be able to get it tuned at all or should I wait for the injectors.

you should be fine, when you get it tuned you will want to do a dyno tune and they can tell you if your maxing the injectors. it's really not a big deal to swap them out until you go above 43lbs which you will not.
