I have an 93 Chevy S-10 and I would like to swap in an 4.8 out of an 03 truck. My one major question is how do you hook up the throtle???? I know on the 03 there is no cable?? Any help would be great.

Just get a TB off of a 99-02. You would have to have a gas pedal assembly and harness to support it. I'm sure there is someone on here with an extra laying around that upgraded.

I don't think they had drive-by-wire in 1993 S-10's. I had a 1995 S-10 and it had the throttle cable. Drive-by-wire is a fairly recent feature, mostly on 2003 or newer models.

Pretty sure that all of the 03 and up trucks are DBW, but prior to that, vehicles with traction control have DBW as early as 99. Thought I read somewhere that all of the SUV's are DBW also (Tahoe, Yukon, etc.)

sounds sweet... i think you can get away with a 02 throttle body on that motor that will accomodate your current pedal and wire. Only thing is... wouldnt the computer need different programming...

like it would have all the right programming what not for that motor... but what about programming for an 02 throttle body on an 03 motor? I'm just wondering if there is a whole different table for dbw or wire controlled throttle bodies in efi live or hptuners from the 02 version to the 03 version

Sorry, I must have been when I typed that earlier. I meant to say to use the dbw tb off of the 03 that you would have to have the pedal assembly and harness. If you had a 99-02 tb you could use your peddle surely.
