Default 6.0 swap parts list

Starting to actively pursue a 2001-2005 6.0 short block, complete ls6 heads and a cam. I have read over and over again that all accesories not included will swap over from my 4.8. Is there any thing at all that might not swap over onto the short block? The only thing I can think that I might need are head bolts, because they cant be torqued again once used.

You will need new head bolts.

I just thought about gaskets too...just trying to think of things that the shop might not have, so all pullies and belts will swap over too?

A lot of the gaskets are reusable. You will need new head gaskets. In my opinion, you should use new gaskets through out, but you don't have to. All the brackets, pullies, and belts will bolt right up ( although you may want to consider new belts just for the sake of having new).

I would think a 65E would be ok for a NA 6.0 making <400 hp, mine is built though and I have 2000.00 into it.

Get arp rod bolts to put in while you have te motor in front of you. Also arp head stubs may not be a bad idea cause if you ever have to pull the heads you wont ahve to buy new bolts again plus its just a stronger setup. Like everyone said eveything will swap over.

I was thinking about that as well...little extra insurance, I will also be beefing up the top end with push rods, springs, etc. The rest of the bottom end should be ok up to 500 hp with NA or supercharger and 600 for a turbo from from what I hear. When I get the 4.8 out, I will be keeping it and learning how to do a 383 stroker/ ls1 bore and 4inch stroker kit, with low compression for a turbo, so in the mean time the 6.0 swap will be Ok. I dont think I will be able to run the nitrous on the 6.0 because compression will be to high with the ls6 heads unless I get a tune done where when I activate the tow haul button it pulls some timing out. Has any one done that or think it will work?
