Default I'm being forced to change my exhaust.....

Just been warned by tho po-po that as of tomorrow i'm "fair game" again. Bad thing is I wasn't doing anything. Went to Exxon to put gas and the cop is sitting in the parking lot. I pull up, pump my gas and when I cranked it back up he pulls on side me shaking his head telling me I don't have any mufflers. When I politely told him, "yes sir I do" he calls me a liar. So I get out of my truck (really wanting to tear into his ***) and told him to come around and check. So he gets his light and checks and sure enough there they are, dual 3" Quickflows. He checks my info and lets me off on a warning. He kept giving examples of how loud it was and told me it should sound more like his unit, QUIET.

So anyways I'd like some suggestions. I currently have dual 3" from the headers back. I'm thinking about one of those dual inlet / single outlet 3" reversible magnaflow mufflers. What do you think?

Ask him what the noise ordinance requires and how his trained/calibrated deaf head... I mean ears have been qualified and by whom!!!!!! Around here the cops have to have a decible meter or they get laughed out of court. Most people eat the ticket but don't even think about challanging how the loud was measured and what the level of loud is at what time of the day/night.

In other words find the ordinance and make sure you comply and also that they are enforcing it properly.

Good Luck

If you're changing it because of the po-po screw it, it is legal isn't it? As long as it's legal and you're not racking them off I wouldn't think they could do much of anything..

Thats BS find out the sound ordinance law is like said above. Around here they have to have a decibel meter too and it cant be above 50db from 50 yds away is what it is I believe. If I can get away with no cats dual 2.5" out of cutouts then you can get away with the mufflers on there. now when I installed my lts that was a different story all together. Dont change your **** you can get out of that ticket easily if they ahve to use a decibel meter if not and its if the cop says its too loud then well ur screwed if that same cop sees you. Call the local courthouse and find out what the ordinance is.

I told the Cop "yes sir I will" than leave and hang it out sideways across the highway and give him a reason to B!tch. Man as long as you have mufflers and legal tell him to **** off. I had a problem with few of the local cops pulling me over, but my mom the local Sheriffs Deputy started pulling them over and they got off of my back then. hahaa

But I'm not legal. No cats and I believe true dual exaust itself is illegal. So I'm lucky I didn't argue with him cause he could have gotten me.

Yeah I accidently got it a little sideways in the rain one time and a cop slapped me with a $120 ticket, which I got written off. I've heard that true duals weren't technically legal either but that doesn't make since because some vehicles come with true duals from the factory. Mustangs for one I'm pretty sure and there are probably others.

I wouldn't change a thing. You didn't violate ****, and someone's ears are not a judge of decibles.

If it's a very serious problem around there, you might as well get a hooker aerochamber and a cutout. Electric perhaps.
