The 8.1's are NOT GEN III engines--a motor is electric BTW-- but GEN VII Big Blocks.

625hp on 87 octane. Plus motor comes built a tuned(turnkey) I think parish 8 was running 105 octane most of the time.

The firing order is different on the 8.1. change cams to older BB then you change firing order.

Has anyone call Tierod yet, one of you guys should tell him that his bottom end is going to fall out. Plus I think he has alrealy dynoed at 505 rwhp already and the crank is still in the block.

Plus your guy(megasqruit) I bet was try to turn some rpms on the stock rods bolts, in order for the cam to come in. stocks rods bolts are only good for 4500 to 5000 not much past that. also parish8 also put APR hardware in his bottom end to make it last.

i had $1000 in parts on top of my $1000 motor. that $2000 total. 6.0's are cheap and strong. if you count the turbo system i am at $7000(this includes the exhaust system).

tierod is a good guy, he is spending some big bucks on a rotating assembly and puting in a ton of other parts. he has a similur driveline to what i am running so our dyno numbers should be compariable. hell, he will probably even be on the same dyno i ran the 6.0 on. we have the makings for some great compairsons.

prety sure tierod got his number with a 200shot. seems like he plans on spraying his new motor even harder. boost is softer on a motor than nitrous so whatever he can pull with the spray a turbo'd set up should be able to do at least as well.

hurry up tierod!!!!! you MIGHT be onto the next big thing.

the entire use trucks as cars thing is geting kind of old. I am not saying it isn't true but who cares. i like the way trucks look and i like to be able to carry moderate loads when i need to. i dont have tractors to tow around or anything like that and most people dont so why buy a monster truck if you dont need it. i see nothing wrong with the truck pulls, even think it is prety cool, just not what we are into.

Then why the 4x4 option, if the only point of going fast in straight line. With the right suspen. setup a 4x2 with be faster street or strip no if or buts about it.

Parish8: when 408 goes in, if you can do a cyclone on the tar with all four wheels rolling. which would be one reason to have 4x4. I buy you lunch and couple of beers.

**** I couldve sworn I saw vids of parish spanking 2WD cars for, hell almost the whole night...I guess that doesn't mean anything though!! And the SUPRA at the time pulled harder up top...but Parish won because he couldn't hook the first time! I think you'd spend more time on tires, supension, traction bars, lockers, etc. then you would just having a bone STOCK 4WD handling 500rwhp to make it 10 sec quarter in a truck. Thats pretty impressive. If you watch any Speed channel races I'm sure you've seen the AWD audi take the lead EVERYTIME the launch light turns green, they've even had to go in the grass to get around the 2wd cars cause hey cant get off the line fast enough. Imagine riding in the grass while your opponent is on the street and you're still passing all of them and you started way in the back!!!! I think Parish has got alot of light but you know what...He's earned it!!!!

I'm definitely on your side here, but he did upgrade to the 2500 t'fer case and 80-e tranny. The drivetrain isn't exactly stock.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that those parts that he changed were replaced with factory GM off the shelf parts though.

I don't think Parish's accomplishments have anything to do with this. It's basically someone imposing his views of what a 4x4 truck should and shouldn't be. Simple as that.
