Hey guys new member on LS1 Tech, found this to be a bad *** site. I have a 99 Silverado which is my daily driver, (only ride!) I just started upgrading on it. Some on my mods are "3:73's, Eaton Posi, B&M shift kit (have them but waiting for install), 75 shot but will go up some day, Airaid, and Headers". I was just wondering how much of a chance I have of breaking some thing? (not so worried about motor just tranny and diff.) What would I have to do to keep it alilve???

I dissagree.
If you put that B&M shift kit in there, it probably want be long untill it goes BOOM!!!!
I had 22,000 miles on mine, and put a B&M in there, and it went BOOM...
was pretty much stock, and running mid to high 15's at the track, so not much HP. there.
the 75 shot is probably going to shorten the life of the trans.
the rear ens will be fine.
it's the trans you will have to worry about

^^^ I would go with what he said above about the B&M. Personally have not installed any shift kit, but I have read alot about those shift kits breaking stuff. Lots have put on the TransGo shift kits.

Hey thanks guys for the info. Only thing about the B&M is that I have already opened it and looked at it so I cant return it. (I'm the type that has to open every thing and check it out) Also I was looking about the Transgo kits and the price is a lot higher. Why is that or does any one know? And why is it that B&M is so bad? I have always heard alot of good things about B&M, that's why I went with that kit.

tranny will be gone fast, and by fast i am saying that i have a stock truck except for k&n and flowmaster and tranny is slipping bad. it does have 67k on it but i just started driving it harder(than i normally do) in the last 3 months. so in about 4k miles i have messed it up and i've only been to the track once. searching for an 80e right now

firming up shifts with a tune, and a shift kit, are 2 totally diffrent feels...
sell the B&M on ebay, and use that money towards a Trans go HD2
you want be dissapointed..
the transGo helps to fix some of GM's mistakes in the valvebody of the 60E.
B&M does not provide this..
so with the B&M you are only making, an allready weak trans shift harder.
the Transgo will help with this plus it's fully adjustable on how hard it shifts, unlike the B&M.
