Default I need your help/advice

I just bought an '06 6.0L and 4L60e on the cheap cuz this guy lost interest in his project. He bought it in late '07 and it has very low miles. I am going to put it in my '71 C10. The motor/tranny has been sitting in his garage for the last two years with nothing done to protect them. The tranny cooler lines were removed and not plugged up and a couple spots on the motor weren't plugged either. I believe the PO had washed the motor before I came and picked it up.

Due to the fact they have been sitting for two years and they possibly now have moisture in spots they shouldn't, what steps should I take to make sure these things don't fail when I do get them installed?

Thanks in advance,
Adam

The throttle body was stuck open and the oil cooler lines were on but not plugged.

The PO said everything was drained when he got it. The motor spins like it should and I want to check the compression of each cylinder but I don't know how to do it. Can it be done just by turning the crank by hand?

Cool, thanks for the help guys.

Do you guys think it is worth while to do a compression check?

was the trans stored full of fluid? if not there could be issues internally with parts drying out.

Pull the intake. With the cathedral ports you can see the valves, check for critters.
