Default I know, another LT thread but....

alright so i finally ordered my LT's and ORY from texasspeed. im very excited and i will be doing the install my self. my dad might help but its doubtful i have all the hand tools and a reciprocating saw with metal blade for any stock exhaust needing to be cut. can anyone offer any helpful hints to make install run more smoothly? i am havign charlie tune for the on the 12th, it alright to run then untuned until then right? i know ill throw a code but im cool i with ignoring it. the pacesetters come with EGR correct? im going to leave that alone for simplicity sake. should be a good direct swap. any tips? thanks

It will not be too hard but still a PITA. I had a local shop install mine. They had to cut the stock Y pipe so they wouldn't have to drop the transmission brace. You could work a little extra and keep it in one piece if you wanted. The LT will go in from the top. The drivers side may require you to pull the plugs and I think even the steering column half shaft. As long as you give yourself all day, maybe even two days, and take your time, you should be good to go.

Do you have collectors or did they come with your LTs?
What about O2 wire harness extenders? Not required but, you may have to strip some wire sheathing back to get the O2's to reach there new locations. Have fun

i didnt think you had to pull the steerig shaft for the 2wd pacesetters? im gonna lose the rear o2's so im not gonna worry about the extenders or anything. im pretty sure the pacesetters come with the collectors and everything needed. the only thind im gonna have the shop do i reweld my cut out on and weld a o2 bund for wideband.

You may not need to remove the half shaft. The muffler shop mentioned something about it. One guy said they did, one guy said they didnt. I didnt care as long as my truck was done.

There are no 2wd or 4wd pacesetters anymore they are all the same thing. I had to undo my sterring shaft on my 2wd then the nut on the shaft hit the new headers so you may have to grind off the tab on the back.

DON'T CUT YOUR Y-PIPE!!! OK here's the deal. Ramps and one jack is all you need.

Pre-install: soak all hardwear w/ PB blaster or any other penatrating lub.
1. Support trans with jack and Remove trans mount(you may need wood blocks (4x4) to reach trans)
2. Remove stock Y.
3. Install pasenger side header from top on engine bay. Two man job, have buddy hold and move trans over towards driver side a few inches slide in.
4.Hard parts done( keep jack supporting trans)
5. Slide in driver side header from underneath engine bay. You may have to remove intermediate sterring shaft to get it up (lol i said shaft, and get it up) I didn't have to remove mine. You may have to trim the end of the bolt on the steering shaft for clearence. I didn't.
6. Hook up your ORY, put trans mount back, and your done.
PS you don't need the extension for your front O2's
