so the consensus says that driver side go in from the bottom, pretty easy, and passenger from the top with a little bit of work. just twist out the dip stick, and maybe have to remove the middle shaft.
should i take off the stock Y then the stock manifold or vice versus. and what order should i reinstall the LT's. Lt then Y or Y then LT

You are going to have to take the y-pipe off first and probably with a sawzall unless you wanna move the transmission cross-member and all that good stuff. Make sure that you also put PB Blaster on the bolts that connect the y-pipe to the stock manifolds as those were my hardest to get off and cost me some skin and blood. Then take the manifolds off.
It will also be easiest to put the LT's in first followed by the y-pipe. I had to use a ratchet strap on the collectors (which wasn't a big deal at all) of the LT's so they would line up perfectly with the y-pipe. Slide the y-pipe in and tighten all of your bolts and put everything back.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not but you need to take off your plug wires and spark plugs, also. Last but not least...don't forget to enjoy your new-found favorite mod!!

still use jackstands with the ramps. ive seen a ram creater before. luckily nobody was underneath the truck. you dont have to remove the spark plugs. just the plug wires. be carefull not to bang into the plugs too hard.

about the collectors, do they not come already attached to the LT's? i assume they are the piece that pulls the 4 pipes into the one 3in pipe. if it does not come already attached, how do you do it? common sense got me about the plug wires and stuff. ha ha. and i dont wanna mess with the tranny crap so im just gonna cut the som b. the boxes should arrive friday so ill start spraying with PB blaster that day, and when i get home on friday night ill pull it up on the ramps or whatever and loosen the bolts up then come saturday morning ill get to cutting and bolting up my new probably 4th favorite mod. cam, tune, stall, LT's. IMHO of course

I ran into my spark plugs on my driver's side and had to take them out. I just took all the plugs out so I didn't accidentally break one off in the block or anything else bad. You may not have to but the more room the better.
ALWAYS use jackstands in addition to anything else that you use to lift the truck up!

alright so my LT's came in tonight and i thought i would get a head start this evening so i brought all my tools outside, drove it up on stone's ramps, and started trying to loosen up all the bolts so in the morning i can remove the system and put in the new stuff. well all the o2's came out fine, taking the back end up the Y pipe off of the muffle area was a breeze. even the passenger side manifold ->Ypipe bolts came off with out too much of a battle but then when i got to the driver side manifold ->Ypipe bolts it was and stil is a major PITA. i have 3 bloody fingers and slit forearms and what did i get? nothing. the driver side didnt budge, not one of three. im using a 19/32 socket and the bolts are longer on the driver side than the passenger so i figure i need a deep socket because i already almost started stripping one of them trying to use the smaller of the spark plug sockets that come with everything. if that doesnt work, im just gonna take the sawzall and cut that SOB to pieces. i could just slice the nut in half or something ghetto style but i started getting frustrated so i quit while i was not so ahead. but at least i broke all the header bolts loose without snapping one off in the block.

did you have to use a deep socket? or what? ive got some muscle behind me but i didnt want to bleed anymore and i already have PB blaster in my eyes, mouth and hair
right now ive got all my crap sitting under the truck with the halogen light shining bright. hope my stupid neighbors come out. at least everything else is loose so it shouldnt be too hard once i get the rest of the stuff off. i might go buy an impact gun but im afraid it may not fit up under there. my only worry about the sawzall is cutting into the oil pans and stuff but **** happens you know.
