the night before go out and spray the bolts with some kind of nut buster and then the next day keep on sprayin then every once in a while, you shouldnt have any problems with bolts..it really shouldnt take you very long to do unless you dont have very good mechanical skills..i didnt take out any plugs. i had to un-do the steering column, the drivers side header went in from the top and the passenger header went in from the bottom with a little bit of force but it went ok..it took me 3 hours to put them on and redo my true dual set up and make some reducers..

i have decent mechanical skills IMO ha ha. the steering shaft, is that fairly easy to take in and out? just a bolt? i have a grinder so i read that i might need to grind the end of that bolt of maybe? do i really need to the all the BS with the trans cross brace and stuff? is the stock Y welded or bolted to the manifolds? can i slide the ORY in over the trans brace without having to remove it and do all that business? the LT's should be here on friday!

alright so i just popped my hood and went under the truck to check everything out. it appears the halfshaft is connected by a single bolt so i may have to un do that. i looked at my rear o2's and said bye bye to them. i should prooably do the install working from the back forward. unhook the y-pipe from the baqck then from the manifolds and remove then take out the headers. one thing looks to be in the way though, the engine oil dipstick, its bolted on above the headers but the tube seems to go through between the pipes and the bolts, how do i remove the headers when they are wrapped around the dipstick?

and just to be sure there are only 6 bolts per side? here are some pics of what im talking about with the dipstick thing.

the bracket isnt a problem because its bolted above the manifolds but the tube next to it goes from the bracket into the engine, between the pipes of the manifold

For me, the driver side went in from the bottom EASILY and the passenger side went in from the top with the oil dipstick tube and bracket removed with a little bit of force and manouvering...

how do you remove the oil dipstick tube? im not TOO worried abotu having to force thing in there. glad to hear driver side went in pretty easy. what did you do to your Y pipe? did you cut, or did you have to remove the trans brace or what?

same with mine. drivers went in from the bottom very easily. passenger was a bit of a pain but keep wiggling and pushing. to get the oil dipstick tube out just unbolt the bracket and pull it out of the block. give it a little twist while you pull on it. theres just an o-ring holding it in down there.

good info, thanks TX. i was looking at the picture and was wondering what the bung was for near the collectors? i dont want to use my rear o2's so im gonna have them deleted soon. i assume the bung in the collector is the front o2? and i dont need extensions for the front o2's right?
