Talking I am REALLY having trouble saying no to this deal

my truck has 40k miles on it. I trade it in for $3000 less than I paid for it
(new)
I put $7500 down and walk out with a brand new D-max, Ext cab, forged wheels, power folding mirrors with the signals in them, 4x4, allison and they will let me keep my new 305/70/16 nittos and mount them for me- and they were even able to find me a manual T-case:bow:. I also get to keep my billet grille and HD alternator, tow hitch (big $55 one) and anything I added. Same payemnts (but over 60 months instead of the 45 I have left)

My truck has a busted skid plate, dented bed rail, scratched up bed, 4.8, no posi, 3.73, manual t-case, 1 big scratch on body. Anyone want an HD 135amp alternator

Hell the truck needs new brakes, oil change, trans flush, diff fluid ect. Thats a good $400-$500 on its own

I guess its totally up to you and that is going to be the deciding factor. If I were in your situation I wouldnt. You are dropping 7500 off the bat and another 15 payments worth a minimum of say another 7500. For 15 grand out of pocket, no thanks. Few think the way I do though and I havent seen what kind of shape your truck is really in or what way you want to go with it. For that kind of money I would start off with a 6.0 swap and a blower and still have money left over to do some sick mods.
A few months ago I turned down trading in my truck and walking away with a new Denali with the same payments just over a longer period. At the time I chose to mod mine, now, I think its one of the best choices Ive ever made. For what I saved in additional payments I bought a blower, alky kit, and some other stuff and will still have saved a good amount after I do the 6.0 4L80 swap. To top it off I would love to hear first hand the person that would prefer a stock Denali over my Tahoe with a couple grand left over

I would probably do it. Diesel is cheap and with a couple mods you can get it to run with the best.

diesel gas is cheaper
diesel gets better milage
diesel upholds resale
diesel lasts forever

and at your rate; you are assuming i'm paying $500 a month! Cut that number by about 30%! $350 sounds right. But then again its 18 months extra as well

Id really like a sandbox warrior but gas milage and reliability are #1 and #2 on my list. I'll probobly end up chipping and MAYBE throwing on an exhuast.

If i was do to anything w/ this truck it would definately have to be a built 4L60 and mild cam LS6. Not a s/c fan to begin with and wouldn't want the extra weight if I could avoid it.

As far as the alternator goes; fair warning that an HD alerternator will trigger a faulty "service brake booster" code. Had my truck serviced and they said its a fake code due to the alternator. I have NO idea what these go for so I guess the fairest way is for everyone to just shoot me an offer (just one, this isn't ebay :p)
