Question Hypertech Programmer irritating the *#@% out of me. HELP!!

First, I would like to say that I am a fresh newbie. I have been reading stuff on here (and drooling about the amazing rides I see) for about two years now and finally decided to sign up.

Anyway...I just picked up my Hypertech Power Programmer last weekend and have reprogrammed the thing about 5 times. I am still having a problem with the 2-3 gear upshift at 4,000-5,000 RPM. It stumbles over itself like it doesn't want to shift. I have added the firmness, removed the firmness. Added 1, 2 & 3 mph for the shift point and still is stumbles. What is the deal? It is really annoying.

Well, nice to be here, hope you guys can help...

Hmmm, not sure.?.? Mine works perfectly! Shifts very nice and firm, and shifts exactly at the RPM I set it at. Call Hypertech, they'll put you through to the Head Tech if the first person can't help. Good luck!

Find a stock MAF and see if that helps

Okay, just got off the phone with Hypertech. They asked about the rev limiter. I had it set at 5,400 and he said that it should be at a minimum of 5,800 if not higher. So I will try that and see if it helps.

Oh, and I tried a stock MAF and still had the same problem. It was a good idea to at least check.

My truck ran like *** with the modified MAF and the HPP. But not every truck is the same so who knows.

I set my limiter at 6,200 and have it shifting at 5,900. It seeems like it's still making power after that, and the graph on the dyno shows it's just falling off a bit at that point. I'd set it at least there. Mine is the 6.0 if that makes a difference.

you set the limiter to 5400? definatly set it to 6000 or more, that is stock anyways. i'm suprised you didnt have trouble with the 1-2 shift since it shifts at 5600 stock..

What he said! My Hypertech works fine with the rev limiter set all the way up at 6200. What are your shift points set at??

my truck stumbles all over itself from 1-2. i dont have the programmer that programmed the truck but i know it was a hypertech(the programmer was burnt in a fire) so i cant fix it. i found my easy fix was hitting the tow/haul button when i go WOT in 1st, but then torque management kicks in really hard. my pcm is locked somehow so allan will be getting a call from me this summer.

Well, I guess I had my head far into the darkness of my *** when I set the rev limiter. I don't know what I was thinking. I have not reset the shift points. I plan to reprogram at lunch today.

I will set the rev limiter to 6,200. Other than that I am not sure where I should change the 1-2 shift, 2-3 shift & 3-4 shift points. What have you guys increased yours by? 1 mph? 2 mph? More? And for which shift? Any help is needed and appreciated.
