hypercrapper
does anyone know how much timing a hypertech actually changes on a '00 5.3?that is with the 89tune & 93tune? can i call and request this from hypertech? just wondering..
im tryin to save up and get a magnaflow, then save some more and get a nelson tune.hope my tranny doesnt take a dump. when i got it changed at 110kmiles, mech said that it looked pretty good to have over 100k miles on it, very few particles in filter. truck note($220month) and insurance(around $800yr) is killing me, atleast gas is coming down! $1.85 for 87oct.
thanks guys!!

Now I bet 75% of the people on this forum started out with some Hypercrapper or Diablo sport tune. These guys are givin you crap because they have learned the expensive way. Sell the Hypertech and get a Nelson tune. You get to have a tune built for your specific truck and mods, not a cookie cutter program. I dealt with Hyper and Diablo and I thought they both sucked, the Diablo was the worst. Go custom, you won't be let down and from what I hear Nelson Custom Tuning is the best. I have a Westers Garage tune, it works, but I don't have the rave reviews for it that others give Allen at Nelsons.

What would be better for me? A Nelson mail order, or Futral dyno? I want a Nelson, but I also want a dyno tune, and I am NOT driving to San Antonio just for that, and my wife is a pilot, so going on a "vacation" in my truck is way out of the question.
By the way, I slowed down a 1/10th when I Hyperteked mine. I made two runs stock, then dropped the tailgate, and tuned it , and slowed down. Now I just use the HPP3 for shift points, and rev limiter, I even took the shift firmness out, cause it shifts like **** at 6200, and sometimes it would hit the rev limiter, and others it wouldn't.
