Default HPPIII uhh ohh!!! WTF!!!

I was fixing to sell my HppIII to a nieghbor and it didn't work on his truck and wouldn't you know, Hypertech is closed.

I unprogrammed my truck this afternoon back to stock. I plugged it into his (same truck 2000 4.8 pewter ext cab only fleetside) and it read his PCM and said calibration not found call Hypertech. We did it twice. Any of you guys have this happen?

It happened to me once. I took the HPP program out when I took my truck to the dealer for some work, they flashed the computer with a newer program when they had it. When I tried to re-install the HPP programming, it said the same thing "program not recognised". Hypertech charged me $100 to update the HPP because I didn't buy it new, I got it off of E-bay. When I sent it in, it was a 30003 model number, when I got it back, the sticker had been changed to a 30005 model. The 30003 model was for a 2000 5.3L only, the 30005 is for a 2000 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L. Is the HPP your selling only for one engine or all three? Maybe his computer has been flashed and now needs the newer HPP program, just a thought.

Mine says P/N 30002 2000 GM Truck 4.8L Nothing else. Maybe he has had his computer flashed. I bought it new. They better not charge me to reset it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> BTW, did I say sell?? I ment letting him borrow for a while. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I bet it's because his isn't stepside. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> But seriously that happened to me once and I disconnected the battery and tried again and it worked.

I called Hypertech and told them. I sent it back Friday, hopefully it will be back this friday. Without any programming I run 5mph fast due to the gear swap. They said it would be a 1 day turnaround.

When I bought a used HPP3 it did the same thing. Told me about my truck then said "Calibration not found" turns out because I had had my PCM reflashed by the dealer the programer did not accpet the info so I had the dealer flash the PCM back to stock and the HPP3 worked perfect.
