Default Torque Management, what a pain!

I've never really had an issue with it until I put on the OEM 3" Tahoe exhaust, the truck pulls much better with it than the Flowmaster 70 Series I had. I would think it would be more noticable during the 1-2 shift but it's not, it's the 2-3 shift where I REALLY feel it. The truck stops pulling, esitates just before the shift, shifts and them starts pulling again. I was using the "firm shift" setting on my HPP but I just took it out to see if that'll help. If it doesn't, I guess I'll lower the rpm setting that the 2-3 shift occurs at. Right now it's at +11 which is 5948 rpms, the 1-2 shift is set for +3 which is 5984 and I can barley feel the TM. I don't want the TM taken out because I know it's there to protect the driveline for abuse but it's a pain in the A$$ sometimes.

Actually, tq mgmt is there b/c GM didn't want to put "real" parts in the 4L60E that would hold up.

Sounds similar to what I noticed on my 2003 Yukon.

We installed the HPP3 with tuning ON, shift firmness ON, but no changes to the shift points, and raised the limiter to 5300rpm. On a WOT 1-2 shift during testing, it was like the truck paused, then went into 2nd. Is that TM kicking in?

TQM will disguise an already slipping tranny. This is definantly a band-aid fix for slippage problems in the tranny.

See my post POS 4L60e for more details.
