Default HP Estimate Based on Track Times

I made my first run at the track a couple of weeks ago and got what I feel are pretty good numbers. I was curious about what kind of HP numbers I'm making based on the track times and found some calculators online. I'm trying to analyze the data and wanted to see what you guys think.

Track Times:
60FT 2.2169
1/8 9.1078 @ 80.50
1/4 14.0249 @ 99.08

I found a couple of calculators on the web that calculate HP based on 1/4 ET & Trap Speed. The trap speed method calculates 375HP and the ET method calculates 355HP.

The real question is...Is there any way to tell what HP numbers I am really making at the wheels based on a 4950lb truck, and if so what is it?

Thanks in advance.

Go to rpmoutlet.com and they have the calculator to figure it out, all you need to know is your weight and track time.

I'm having similar problems...

My stats = 14.56 @ 92.0 - Estimated race weight of 5500lbs.

RWHP calculator based off of MPH says I'm at 328hp.

ET calculator based off of my HP - 346hp gets me to 14.56.

So... If my logic is correct, and I'm calculating HP based on trap speed. The calculator will assume perfect traction. If i'm spinning off the line, I actually have less than 1/4 mile to get up to my trap speed. That would mean I'm making more HP at the rear wheels than the calculator suggests.

Please excuse that I can't remember freshman physics very well. I had alot of fun that year.

the mph numbers are way more acurate.

if i use mph for my calculations the numbers seem right on with what i would expect and what i see at the dyno. i think the mph calculator is prety acurate, i would say within 25hp for my set up.
