Default How much lift before problems?

Well it looks like everyone is at the PRI show this week, so I can't get too many answers on a cam. How much lift can you put into a 6.0 before you have to flycut or the pistons and valves will hit? They took .025 off my heads to get the chamber size back so I know this will take some away. I know duration plays into this some also.

Talk to Richard he can help you out ALOT back when I was just going to do a 6L H&C I talked to him and he helped me decide what cam to go with. He recommended a 224/228 112lsa for me if I remember correctly and that was suppose to be on the edge as far as p to v clearance.

I am thinking 224, I know I can get away with 560ish cause that is what is in there now, Or 220/224 581/581 on a 115lsa. I think this is what Grippy is using, Anyone got a part number?

Nope didnt ride in it but he said it feels fine with the stock stall in it. I rode in White1's truck with a 223/225 112lsa cam and tb stall and it seemed fine off the line and would haul ***.

Did you clay the heads to check P to V when you did the install?

If not, Comp Cams makes a cam installation kit that includes a degree wheel, checking springs, dial indicator, and instructions so that you can do the valve drop method to check it. You'll just have to fab something out of steel to bolt to the head for the magnet on the dia indicator to hold to. Just make sure to check from about 10 degrees BTDC to 10 degrees ATDC.

You could then take that info to who ever is going to grind your cam and they can help you determine what will fit. I'm in the same boat as you, except my heads are being milled .045 to bump CR. Everyone seems to think that my current cam will fit just fine, but I may want to go a little bigger later.

On a side note, does anyone know what the minimum safe p to v clearances are?

Your sig cracks me up. I feel your pain.

I wish someone knew what safe was, I quess really no one knows.
I think sunday I am going to pull the valvecovers and do some investigating. I might get the adjustable Jesel rockers and give that a try.
