Default How many people in here have z06 cam?

I was just wondering how you liked it, and how much of a difference(sotp, and real dyno) you got over stock.

Also, I learned that the Z06 cam is supposed to have -24degrees of overlap, so shouldn't it be a pretty good blower/turbo cam?
Just tossing around ideas here and was wondering about other peoples input.

I am about to get the z06 cam on my wife's truck. I have seen dyno numbers of 30+ peak rwhp and about 80rwhp more @ 6200 compared to the 99 stock cam.

Don't have one but there's a difference between the 01 and 03 LS6 cam, if that's what you're talking about. I could be wrong and there's a seperate Z06 cam too...

I got one in my 2000 reg cab swb.
W/ 6.0 liter..I feel like I lost some low end torque,
but comes on like there's no end abloyt 2700 rpm.
I AM still running 5.3 computer tuning though.
I'm sure eliminating "torque managment" alone
would help.
I was getting 15-16 mpg with 5.3..now get consistant
18mpg with 6.0.. LS6 heads, & cams.

If you go with LS6 cam, be sure and change the springs also,
as this cam likes to wind and winds up quick.

Springs are a definate thing to change out. The ZO6 cam I am talking about is 218/204 .550/.550 117.5 LSA I think that it is the 2002 cam. Just tossing around some ideas, and it seems like a great daily driver cam that would still be good with power adders. The cam and springs together is only $335 shipped also from summit.

Those specs are from the 02+ ls6 cam. I am sure you can get a better deal on the cam and springs from one fo the sponsors here on tech.

80 RWHP @ 6200? Can't be possible... must be a typo.

30-35 RWHP @ peak seems more correct.

I have the 01 LS6 can and with tuning its pretty nice. With the stall, I'm sure it will be even nicer.

It's not a typo.

Not trying to start anything, but that seems wrong.

Sure, the LS6 can is a top end cam, and the motor can really benefit from more RPM, but 80RWHP? I'ld like to see the proof man.

I'm revving to 6K and its hauling tail up top now that it's tuned... but I can't see the can adding that much.

I have an 02 LS6 Cam and it does like to wind but I think there is a loss of low end and I am thinking about swapping to a VHP 047 cam.
