Hey my SS
You are leaving a ton of HP on the table by running that 5.3 tune, you need to get the TQ managment out also.I like the Idea of LS6 heads on a 6.0

I thought it was insane when I saw those saw the dyno numbers too. Just reember the stock cam peaks out @ 5200-5400 and it's pretty much dead after 6k while the ls6 cam peaks ot at 6100-6200.
02Danali, only reason I am gong 01 ls6 is becasue I have read countless times you will not loose as much low end as you would with the 02+ ls6 and I got an incredible deal on the cam and springs.

I have the 01 Z06 cam in my build, mostly due to emmision worries. Like Tiburon says you don't loose as much low end as the 02+ cam. It can be found cheaper, too. I got mine with springs for $140 shipped, all brand new. If there is no hurry, look around some.
It feels really good down low and has some extra breathing room on top. Good combo with the increased stroke.

Who will be installing those for ya Tiburon? And do you think the 212/218 522/529 114 LSA would be better than the Zo6 cam?

Lethal Performance in San Antonio is where I get some of my work done. I would take the comp cam 212/218 522/529 114 in a heart beat over the 01 ls6 cam.

Sure, the LS6 can is a top end cam, and the motor can really benefit from more RPM, but 80RWHP? I'ld like to see the proof man.

It's pretty simple. Like stated above. Our peak HP stock is at 5200rpm. After that power falls flat on it's face.

Stock I made 242rwhp @ 5100rpm

By 6200rpm I had dropped down to about 206rwhp.

Compared to my 226 cam before tuning. Pay attention to the power at 6200rpm. At 6200rpm with my cam and headers etc. I made 304rwhp (before tuning). So that is a solid 98rwhp gain at 6200rpm.

Yeah you lose some low end but I could care less since when racing I never drop much below 4k rpm anyway. So that's where I want all my power, 3.5k and above.

Granted not all of that was from the cam but you can see how the shift in powerband substantially added power on the top end.
