how long will trans. last with s/c?

I think you have abuse mode and performance mode confused. Abuse mode is when the PCM see's that you are 'abusing' the vehicle and it does some funny things to cut power and make it so you can't be hard on it for a given amount of time.

Performance mode is a tranny table variable. You can make different settings for normal and performance mode like different shift points, tg mgnt options, TCC lock/unlock speeds, etc.

I'm surprised you haven't had any problems David. My tranny started slipping real bad in 1 and 2. The 4l65 only has 5 pinion planetaries over the 4l60. That shouldn't have anything to do with tranny slippage though.

No confusion. I guess I should have said it's getting rid of abuse mode, which uses the torque management to reduce the power.

That's what I thought too but it has:

5 pinion planets
hardened input shaft
hardened output shaft
7 clutch 3-4 clutch pack
better sun gear reaction shell
and some other assorted stuff.
