Well that converter wont help any, it will make your tranny get hotter. Its hard to tell but by doing a Tranny cooler ( A good one, not the stock one) and a shift kit and servos it will last longer. As far as time wise, Who knows... But all stock with that converter and 500 rwhp, it wont last long at all.

The sunshell, input drum, ( and in 4X4 models the output shaft) are the major weak points. These things require completely tearing the tranny down to be installed. I've seen many broken and/ or severly worn planetary sets in these trannies as well. Not to mention that I personally broke a 300m anchor pin in my 700r4 ( replaced the 5 speed in my 99 with it). This pin holds one end of the band that is responsible for 2nd and 4th. Line pressure is extremely important in these trannies also, make sure to tune the tranny to match your trucks performance level.

My 4l65e is holding up pretty well with just a tt2600 stall, shift kit and servo. It still has firm shifts and no slippage. I don't trash it, but I do like to show off the 4 wheel burnouts.

Oh yeah and I dont think it will last either the partsl isted above I think will be a large atep in the right direction. Just for and idea of how big a pos these things are I have put about 1900 bucks in hard parts to upgrade my tranny and I dont think its going to last with my new setup once its in IMO you should just ditch the 65e and get the 80e.

Ditch the overdrive crap all together and put a t-400 in it. Wouldn't be a real hard conversion and will be damn near bullet-proof if built right. That's what I'll be doing real soon.
