Default how far can a 4.8/5.3 block be bored?

I`m picking up my 4.8 tomorrow and I already have a 5.3 crank and rods on the way thanks to another board member. How far can the 4.8/5.3 block be bored? Can I bore it to the 5.7 LS1 bore? If so, can I use the 5.3 crank and rods with the 5.7 pistons? Thanks.

Yes, you could bore it to ls1 spec, but Ive read that you would need to get the block sonic tested to ensure proper strength.
