I think if you do a search for "home made catch can" you'll find the part numbers and how to make it. The piece is a liquid/vapor filtration unit used on air compressors.

 

How much oil do I think mine catches? A lot, if not all, considering that the amount of oil in my catch can in those pics is from 3 days of not-so-hard driving. I spent $50 less than you and mine does just as good a job, don't hate

All this because I believe in a good product, and not some ghetto rigged thing. I have built much faster cars and trucks than you will probably ever think about having, but go ahead and poke fun at me because I must be a ricer because I made a joke.

By the way Chingon, I am not hating on you, if that is what you want, then that is good for you. If it works well, then that is even better. I just know for myself that AMW's catchcans are very high quality, and work extremely well. That is why I am going with one of his. Also, with the way that you are thinking, why would magnacharger offer a polished blower for $800 more if they do the same job? Because it looks damn good. Please don't get me wrong though. I think that it is cool that you found a way to do it yourself that works well. I just prefer my way.

Dude, you're just proving my point. Magna makes a polished blower for $800 more because it looks good. I'll admit your catch can looks better, but they do the exact same thing, just like you're saying with your magnacharger analogy. How is my set up "ghetto rigged"? Just because yours is $50 more? Is it worth that? Not to me since you're never looking under the hood, and if you are, something is wrong with your truck

But when I think about it, since im only 24 and you have all these years of experience I wonder how much faster my car will be when you die than anything you "will probably ever think about having"

my catch can helped me run 12's. and it is still only $30 bucks.

 

You know what's funny? I'm 21, so "I wonder how much faster my car will be than you when you die". Look man, you can think whatever you want. I have an opinion on the fact that I would rather have one that works great and looks great. My decision. I was just making a point that I have done lots of work on many different cars, and I am not some stupid ricer who has an electric BOV, or a giant wing on the back. Just because I want the things on my truck to look good doesn't mean that I don't know what I am talking about. You may prefer yours, but your mod is not better than mine just because yours is cheaper, it is just cheaper than mine. The AMW may or may not work better, but it looks better, and I want the underside of my hood to look better.

I didn't think that in any way a TB bypass would give 6 hp, until I saw a before and after dyno with that being the only thing changed. It was printed on paper, not one of those "I think it made a difference" things. That is why I said in another thread not related to this one that on an F-body I saw someone who got 6hp. I didn't say I got 6, or you would get 6, but he did.

By the way, when are you going to grow up and stop attacking me because I have a valid opinion on a product?

 

We weren't the ones saying ours is better than yours, YOU were. Then you bring up the fact that you've worked on cars before like that makes you some sort of an expert catch can engineer.
I'm not attacking you, and you didn't give a valid opinion on anything because you implied that your catch can catches more oil than mine without proof. Then you changed your mind by saying, "The AMW may or may not work better" I don't get it.

By the way, when the filter in your catch can gets old, can you replace just the filter, or do you have to buy a whole new catch can?

 

Just because my catch dosent look as good as the AMW dosent mean it dosent work well. And just because its cheaper dosent mean that either. I never said mine was better, YOU said mine was worse.

If you think this is attacking, you need to relax. Remember you are the one saying to me my catch can is a POS and dosent work eventhough you have no idea what im using. But thats a "valid opinion" isnt it. You dont even have your catch can installed, so what opinion do you really have?

And if your 21, those are some strong remarks about building faster cars and having faster cars considering you dont even know me, but ill leave that alone too. Maybe you should grow up

 

I am honestly not 100% sure because I don't have mine yet, but I think that the design is a screen that you can clean and re-use. I will be happy to give you more info when I get it.

I don't think that yours doesn't work. I just want a better looking piece that I think a bit more R&D has been put into. I feel more comfortable with it, and I know that it looks better. That is all.
