I remember seeing something about this not to long ago. I think one of the local texaco oil changing places around here flushes it with something, can't remember though. I've heard some people saying something about seafoam or something like that?
I took my throttle body off and cleaned all the gunk off of it today and cleaned as far up in the intake as i could. It was like real gunky, oily grime. It has to be hurting the air flow, as well as clogging up my heads over time.
What is the best way to go about this?

I just recently cleaned my top end with 3/4 of a can of Seafoam through the PCV hose. You can use the hose to the power brake booster also. GM Top End Cleaner is good stuff also.
When I worked at the dealership, we used to do a BG induction service that involved 3 cans of additives, 2 through a pressurized fogger nozzle into the throttle body and 1 added to a full tank of gas.
With the way these GenIII engines like to suck oil through the PCV system, a good induction service once a year should be routine maintenance IMO.

Seafoam you can buy at any auto parts store. You just start your truck up, and pour some into where your pcv tube goes into your intake. Then you let it run and pour out all sorts of smoke as it cleans the crap out of your intake.
You could also take a can of berrymans B12 with your intake ducting off, and just spray it into your intake(while not running) and just make sure that the red tube doesn't shoot into the back of your manifold

After I pour the seafoam stuff into the intake, how long do you let it run before shutting it off? Is it a good idea to drive it around?
