Default GM new fuel systems

If the the older trucks are anything like the newer ones(03-05), there is no in line fuel filter. GM has come up with this "Maintainence Free Fuel System" ha fun one there. The fuel filter is actually in the fuel cell with the pump. So if you crawl under you chevy on the drivers side just behind the drivers door you may/or may not see it there.

It will be on the drivers side frame rail under the door.

I can't remember what size the fittings are, but you're gonna wanna use line wrenches to avoid stripping them out.

Yup, it's wise to use flare nut wrenches on this job - they offer more uniform contact versus a standard open end wrench and should prevent accidental stripping of the relatively softer nuts found on fuel lines. I have an '02 EC and the fuel filter is mounted to the frame beneath the back door on the driver's side.

Good luck.
