Well, I just purchased a fortified 4L60E from Flyer. I'm going to install it with a stock convertor, however the torque managment will be removed and there is a TransGo installed so it should run well!

I forgot to mention ... do you have a cooler on there? It would be a small heat exchanger in the front. If you don't .. you need one! If you do, be sure to clean out all the lines. That should actually be done anywyas.

Oh alright. Sorry about that I'm used to my 3.08 gears and it goes to 2nd.

I tend to agree
A GOOD trans will handle the manual shifts...

The truck has the factory towing package so yes, it has a tranny cooler. I wonder if I should upgrade? Anyone have part #'s for the right B&M for these trucks?

thanks ...

If you want a good large heat exchanger I have used and old A/C condenser core that fits right in front of the radiator. you can pick these up at the local wrecking yard for next to nothing. fab up some lines and you have one huge radiator cooler. best of all if you do it right it will look factory!
