Default hitting the rev limiter

how bad is it for the engine/drivetrain? i'm trying to learn to hold the shifts a little longer manually but i am too afraid to hit the limiter.

Unless you have a tranny with a manual valve body let is shift itself it will be faster. It doesn't do ****, just cut out and then shift. Do what ever you want and have fun...

hitting rev limiter can bend push rods and hurt valve train <img border="0" alt="[Truck]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_truck.gif" />

i let it shift on its own
just wondering what would happen if the limiter was lightly hit once
not stuck in it.
ive seen guys at the track in the burnout box in a fbody just sit there bangin off the limiter...
