High flow cats vs Stock Cats
#1
I will be converting my exhaust to a true dual set up. My question lies in the y-pipe set up.
Is it worth the money for high flow cats? If I use the stocks cats, I will just have my exhaust guy use 3" piping after the cat and run true duals all the way back.

If you have a y-pipe then its not a true dual setup. The stock cats are fine if you have under 100,000 miles on it they flow pretty well and the afterrmarket ones arent worth the money IMO unless they are clogged like mine were.

The stock ones are supposed to be high flow anyway. If you cut them off of your y pipe and look inside you can see through pretty well if they aren't clogged. I have a friend that took his off the other day and the mesh stuff inside was melted almost solid.
