Default Help, truck wont start!!!

Hey i just put in a LQ9 out of a denali, it was wreaked. It cranks over but that is it. it has a code p0335, which is crankshaft position sensor A circuit malfunction. the thing is i think it was from my old motor. I deleted it, and crank the motor and no code. My question is well the motor start even with that code?

sounds to me like the sensor is either bad or not plugged in. It will not start without it.

you need a crankshaft position sensor. without it, your coils and fuel injectors have zero idea when they should be firing

you have to get a 6.0l tune instead of your 5.3l

nope, it will run fine on the 5.3 calibration. He will eventually want to get it tuned, yes...but it will start, run and drive on the 5.3 cal.

Do you know what part of the equation is missing. What I mean is spark
or fuel injector pulse also check for compression. The motor should crank up
and run off the old 5.3 tune in your pcm.
