I wouldn't be saving too much if I went out an bought a welder and took classes to learn how to weld as well. Trust me, I'm saving much more this way because it's a one time thing. Even if I did know how to and had a welder, my dad wouldn't let me do it in the driveway anyway.

If you but the ory there is nothing to weld. It took me about an hour and a half. Send your old man out to dinner and tear into it.

Come again? Nothing to weld?! I may have to hold off on this for a little longer now to find out more. What, does it just bolt together when you get the ORY? If so I may need a few things like an torque wrench, I hope I can find some cheap ones.

walker (or torc-tite) pre-formed 3" stainless band clamps. trash the u-bolt clamps that come with the kit and use these. use these where the collector (ID) slipd into the y-pipe (OD). but to ensure a positive seal, cut 4 slits into the y-pipe where the collectors slips in with a hack-saw about an 1 1/2. this will allow the y-pipe, where the collector slips in to be squeezed down around the collector and seal properly. the walkers can be ordered at any o'reilly's, napa, autozone. generally you can get the torc-tites at any truck supply shop. the end of the y-pipe bolts right up to the factory or after-market cat-back exhaust. no need for welding.
