You guys are great and I appreciate everyone getting me back up to speed since i've been out of the LS1 loop for a couple years. I still have no idea what cam would best suit my needs. My impressions of my truck now with the 265 tires is its low on torque or needs at least 4.10 gears. When I lift it and go with bigger tires, this will be more noticible, I can't leave anything just "adequate". I like to have tons of power right off idle on a truck, and I don't care if it craps out by 6000 rpms. My truck will see 2000 rpm's everyday, but rarely will it see 6000 rpm's. My consensus here is I will be better off just regearing it and leaving the valvetrain alone. I'm totally satisfied with how my truck runs once it hits 2500rpms, so i'll just do something to make it get to 2500 rpm's faster.

Thorley headers, are they still good, or has people's opinion changed since they've been out for a while?

I think you're making a good choice. It's a lot of work to change a cam, and if losing low end is not what you want to do, then just leave your cam alone and get those gears, which will make a healthy difference. Also, depending on how big you go on tires, you may want to consider 4.56's instead of the 4.11's.

Good luck, be sure and post back here and tell us how it all turns out.
