Default Help Identifying Engine Harness Connector

Doing a V6 to LQ9 swap and while mocking up where the connectors are... there is one I can't figure out where it connects. The harness is from a 2002 Yukon 1500 4L60E and the engine from a 2005 Escalade.

Thanks -Red

Nope

Its EVO, goes on the back of the PS pump, if you have an EVO pump. Coolant plug is black.

If you dont have an EVO pump, just ziptie the connector out of the way, and let it ride.

Thanks... I'll let her ride!

Never seen a PS pump with a sensor (retired old school body/paint guy). Is it for trucks with hydroboost brake systems?

I recently learned that it is in fact not for hydroboost trucks. GM did not put EVO and hydroboost together, although some retrofitters have, without well documented results.

EVO is Electronically Variable Orifice. It is a system GM has used forever (my 93 Saturn SC2 had it), and basically it lets the PCM vary the steering assist based on vehicle speed.

I also recently learned that on the NBS trucks, the EVO is trash and most dont work after a few years. I did hydroboost on my Tahoe last weekend, swapped out the OEM EVO pump (didnt even know it was there!) and I felt no difference at all in the steering. Granted, she has not been up to highway speed yet, but low speeds felt the same with EVO pump and with hydroboost pump
