Default Heads Question

I've had my truck a few years now. I fhave a lot more knowledge with LS1 engines, I've been seeing a lot of talk about some of the parts interchanging, will the MTI stage 2 heads & cam fit into the 5.3 engine? A better question is will LS1 heads, cam and intakes fit on this engine? Thamnks in advance.... <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

The heads and cams are interchangable from 5.3 to 5.7. Stock for stock there are no benefits to be had., but the SII MTIs are a good choice and MTI has an abundance of knowledge to aide you in your cam selection.

As far as the intakes go, they will bolt-up but the truck intake manifold outflows the stock LS1 but not the LS6. The car and truck fuel systems are a bit different as well (cars-static pressure & trucks-vacuum boosting) which makes for some modifications to the rails, lines and injector connectors. It will work but at what cost and what benefit?

Thanks Oxidizer.. So it would be better to put the stage 2 heads and cam package and leave the stock manifold on the truck. Do i need to upgrade the injectors? do you know the flow numbers and what CC's the stock heads are? Thanks for all you help.. I'm trying to get into the numbers your running...

The injectors you have are rated @ 24.6 #s and will handle up to about 315 NA at the rear wheels before going over 100% useage. Your stock intake will put out more torque than the LS6 - keep it. I hear the intake of the 5.3 and LS1 heads are nearly identical, but the 5.3 has a more restrictive exhause port. Also, the 5.3 has a 1.89" intake valve compared the the 2" from the LS1. The 5.3 has appx 59 cc chamber while the LS1 has about 67 to 69 cc chamber (depends on who you ask). Not sure about true flow numbers on the stock heads.
